Abstract:The effect of composition of Cu, Fe, Mg on the solidification structure and mechanical properties of the hypoeutectic A356 alloy treated by melt temperature treatment (MTT) process was studied. The results of solidification structure observation and mechanical properties e valuation show that the MTT process can obviously restrain the precipitation, change the morphology of intermetallic compound by the size decreasing, such as Cu-rich, Fe-rich and Mg-rich phase. So the mechanical properties are improved. Finally, the experimental results were analyzed according to the theory of atom clusters.
