Abstract:The transformation behaviors assoeiated with R-phase and martensirie transformations inrapidly solidified TINi shape memory alloys have been studied systematieally using differential seanning calorimetry,X-raydiffraetion,ete .It was found that rapid solidifieation more signifieantly depresses the temperature ranges of R-phase and martensitc transformations than solutlon treatment and makes it possible that the martensite transformation 15 separated from R-phase transformation. After aging the rapidly solidified Ni-rich TINi binary shape memory alloy the martensite can be seperated from the R-phase in not only the forward but also reverse transformations. With increasing aging time both the forward and reverse transformation temperature range so fmartensite and R-phase
