Abstract:The effect of thermomechanical treatment on the magnetic properties of Mn85.5Fe9.0Cu0.5 alloy was studied by use of a materials testing machine, a vibrating sample magnetometer, an X-ray diffractometer, a homogeneously and adjustably magnetic field and strain gauges. The results show that the orientation of fct phase and magnetic domains is affected by the thermomechanical treatment. When the compressive strain of thermomechanical treatment is −1.2%, the magnetic-field-induced strain reaches the highest value in the adapted situation.
