Abstract:At the total chamber pressure of 1.01×101Pa, Hg, Cd and Zn were distilled at 773-973K from spent zinc-manganese batteries, Pb was volatilized at 1173-1273K while Mn, Cu, Fe and C were remained in the residual. MnO2 and ZnO were reduced by carbon in spent dry-batteries at 773-1273K. Pure metals including Zn, Cd, Hg and Pb were recovered respectively from their mixed vapor by fractional condensation.
Key words: spent dry-batteries; recycling; vacuum metallurgy
